UFG Private Equity presents at GSMA telecom industry event in Moscow

Arthur Akopyan, Partner at UFG Private Equity, presented at the session titled “The Operator’s Expanding Role in E-Commerce, FinTech and Entertainment” of GSMA Mobile 360 ​​Series - Eurasia Conference. This annual event, organized by GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association) in Moscow for the second time, convened leaders from government and regulatory bodies and the international mobile & ICT industry alongside other economic sectors impacted by digital transformation.

Russian Towers, a UFG PE portfolio company, participated as one of conference industry sponsors and Alexander Chub discussed his views on 5G and IoT infrastructure models.

During his presentation, Arthur offered investors’ perspectives on 5G deployment, discussed varying estimates of addressable market for new technologies and commented on new use cases for 5G in both the consumer and enterprise markets. Russia and CIS will represent one of the top markets for 5G globally and competition will intensify not only between MNOs, but also between various ecosystems. Arthur pointed out Cloud based services (SaaS) as one of the most promising areas for MNOs.

GSMA Mobile 360 ​​Series - Eurasia – a 2-day conference held in Moscow and supported by policy makers, telecom operators, domestic and international ICT industry leaders.

GSMA (Global System for Mobile Communications Association) represents the interests of mobile operators worldwide, uniting more than 750 operators with almost 400 companies in the broader mobile ecosystem, including handset and device makers, software companies, equipment providers and internet companies, as well as organizations in adjacent industry sectors.
