Charles E. Ryan
Chairman, UFG Asset Management
In 2005, when Deutsche Bank acquired 100% of UFG’s investment banking business, Charles Ryan was appointed Chief Country Officer and CEO of Deutsche Bank Group in Russia. He stepped down as the CEO of Deutsche Bank in Russia in September 2008 and in October 2008 became Chairman of UFG Asset Management. In addition to his role as Chairman, Mr. Ryan is also responsible for the overall management of UFG's private equity business.
Mr. Ryan graduated with honors in Government from Harvard College.
Florian Fenner
Managing Partner of UFG Asset Management
From 1996, Mr. Fenner served as Deputy Head of Research at Brunswick Brokerage, one of Russia’s leading investment banks and, in 1997, he became a Russian equity Portfolio Manager for Brunswick Capital Management. Before joining Brunswick Brokerage, he worked as an investment banker for Schroder Munchmeyer Hengst Co. in their Frankfurt office. Mr. Fenner is a charted financial analyst and holds a degree in banking from Industrie-und Handelskammer in Frankfurt-am-Main (1992-1994).
Martin O. Skelly
Partner, UFG Asset Management
In 2006, after UFG sold its investment banking business to Deutsche Bank, Mr. Skelly was appointed Head of EMEA and Latin American Sales and Sales Trading for Deutsche Bank AG based in London. He left Deutsche Bank in October 2008 and moved with his family to Charleston, South Carolina. In January of 2009, Martin Skelly re-joined UFG Asset Management (UFG AM).
His responsibilities at UFG AM include the overall supervision of UFG AM Group business structure, including business development, central management functions, finance, marketing, as well as special projects management across the range of UFG AM products, both in private and public markets. Mr. Skelly is member of UFG AM Management Committee.
Prior to joining UFG in 1997, Mr. Skelly worked as a Financial Analyst for Insignia Financial Group, providing asset management services and compliance for loans of more than $200 million. Before entering business school, Mr. Skelly worked as teacher and guidance counselor for the Virginia public schools.
Martin Skelly received a BA in Economics from Harvard University in 1989 and an MBA with honors in Finance from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1994. In South Carolina, he serves on the Boards of the Charleston Wine and Food Festival, WINGs for Kids, Charleston Philanthropic Partners, Trident Academy, the Porter Gaud School’s Father’s Association and Foundation Board. He is also active with AlphaUSA, serving on their regional advisory committee.
